Founding President, Habib University

Mr. Rizvi is the founding President of Habib University. Previously, he has also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Habib University Foundation (HUF), a not-for-profit organization created in 2006. Since the beginning of its operations, Habib University under the leadership of Mr. Rizvi has become a globally recognized university through established partnerships with globally leading institutions of higher learning, including Carnegie Mellon University, Texas A&M University, Stanford University, University of Michigan and  Pitzer College. The university’s achievements are visible in the distinguished faculty, well-rounded curriculum, and an innovative and award-winning campus design, recognized in 2010 by the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) for Excellence in Planning a New Campus.

As CEO of HUF, he worked with a community of public and private partners both locally and internationally for the execution of innovative youth development projects. Prior to his association with HUF, Mr. Rizvi was associated with Aga Khan Education Services Pakistan (AKESP), spearheading the conceptualization, design, and implementation of education programs across numerous schools.

He is also one of the founding members of both The Institute for Development Practice in Quetta, Pakistan as well as ‘Shikshantar’ in India; the latter set up to rethink foundations of education and development in South Asia.
