Ms. Hamdani started her career with Sindh Education Foundation in 2003. She moved on to join the Habib University Foundation, HUF, as a University Planning Associate in 2008, which involved conceptualizing, planning, designing and developing of seven key areas of HU. As a University Planner, she developed strategies and facilitated the development of HU’s operational infrastructure, establishing frameworks for University management vis-à-vis Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Facility Management, Communication and External Relations, Student Services and Administration. She moved on to become the Assistant Director for Academic Planning.

Since HU’s inauguration, she has held the title of Director for Academic Operations and Global Engagement. These positions involved working with the Deans and Program Directors to recruit faculty, assist with performance management, and oversee daily academic support operations. Her position with Global Engagement involved managing institutional partnerships and collaborations, student study abroad programmes, global initiatives vis-a-vis faculty, and intellectual development

At present, Ms. Hamdani is the President’s Chief of Staff. Her role involves supporting the President and senior leadership of the University on a wide range of strategic issues. Her team acts as a conduit through which members of the community — faculty, students, and staff — can communicate with the President, and is responsible for ensuring progress on major University-wide initiatives.

She has been one of the essential personnel responsible for where the university stands at this point of time.
