Peer Tutors

Peer Tutors are undergraduate students with excellent academic qualifications, who help other students learn concepts, techniques and strategies for a specific course.

Research shows that students often find it easier to approach fellow students with specific problems: particularly when those helping have studied the course in question very recently and are familiar with the course material, requirements, and professors.

Consequently our Peer Tutors are welcoming, supportive, and enthusiastic about their subjects: with the desire and ability to engage with students and pass on their skills and understanding. They welcome problems both big and small and help students gain confidence in their own capabilities.

Being a Peer Tutor is a popular and well-respected position, and students from all disciplines apply to become part of the EHSAS team. Our Tutors are carefully selected on the basis of their application forms, interviews, and faculty recommendations, as well as their grades in the specific modules they wish to tutor in.

Most peer tutoring sessions take place individually, with small group review sessions prior to exams.

Drop-in Hours:

All Peer Tutoring takes place in the EHSAS Center (unless otherwise specified).

No appointment is necessary; however, it works on a first-come, first-served basis. If you find a tutor busy, there is plenty of space to wait and read/use a computer.

The drop-in hours will be posted after the second week of classes.
